Kramp acquires the aftermarket spare parts business from Maskinhandler Indkøbsringen

Kramp takes over the aftermarket spare parts and accessories business from MI (Maskinhandler Indkøbsringen), effective 8 February 2021. The acquisition of the aftermarket spare parts business helps Kramp to further strengthen its objective to become the essential partner in parts and accessories for the agricultural industry. In the coming period, the operation of both companies will continue unchanged.

In the past months, MI and Kramp have been discussing the possibility for Kramp to take over the spare parts and accessories business from MI. It is therefore with great pleasure and anticipation that we can announce that an agreement is now in place, effective from 8 February 2021.

The CCO of Kramp Denmark, Albertus Kloosterman, comments: “Despite the global uncertainty we still want to invest in the Danish agricultural industry and ensure growth to our partners and the Danish farmers by continuing to offer the best assortment and service to the market. We have been colleagues with MI in the industry for almost 60 years and have great respect and admiration for the company it has grown into. When given the possibility to purchase MI’s aftermarket spare parts and accessories business, we knew that the acquisition would complement our existing business well and strengthen us in reaching our objective to become the essential partner for the agricultural industry.”

MI was founded in 1963 as a purchasing cooperation between Danish machine dealers. The Vejle based company has 19 employees working in their aftermarket spare parts and accessories business, with a broad range of well-known brands and MI-branded products from their 80,000 items assortment. The products are primarily sold through the MI dealers’ shops to both privates and professionals.

“We are delighted with MI, and we look forward to implementing the assortment and welcoming the employees into the Kramp family. In the acquisition process we really saw that the values of the two companies are very similar. We both put the customers first and support that by offering them access to a high level of knowledge and a wide assortment”, says Albertus Kloosterman.

The CEO of MI, Kristian Jakobsen, comments: “We are also very pleased with the agreement with Kramp. Since the start in 1963 it has been MI’s dedicated goal to be a professional and efficient supplier of a wide range of products to Danish agriculture, but we had reached a crossroads. We must specialize and meet the future needs of our customers. Kramp is a strong and professional supplier with a large assortment, and we complement each other in many ways. The agreement with Kramp will continue and ensure future professional supply and service of parts for Danish agriculture, which has been a significant determining factor for us in the deal. Going forward, MI will strengthen its focus on the distribution of agricultural and lawn/garden machinery as well as original spare parts for this machinery in Denmark and Sweden.”

Integration of MI into Kramp

During the first period, both companies will continue to operate independently, but the process of a full integration of MI has already been started. “We will start the process of moving the assortment to the Kramp warehouse in Skjern in the spring. We expect to have finished the integration before the summer holidays and will do our utmost to ensure that our customer will experience as little inconvenience as possible in the process”, says Stefan Garsdal, COO of Kramp Denmark.
