Checking ISOBUS functions is now easier than ever

ISOBUS is the software that allows you to easily connect multiple machines to each other without having to convert control cabinets, for example. But how do you know if your tractor is compatible with the implement you want to buy? The Agricultural Industry Electronics Foundation (AEF) has the answer. Based on their ISOBUS database, they have created a program on their website which contains the functions of various implements and tractors. This allows you to immediately see whether the implement/tractor is ISOBUS-certified and whether the functions of the implements/tractors that you have selected are a match. You can read more about how this works below.

About the AEF database: did you know that...

  1. All the major agricultural brands in the world contribute to it.
  2. Twice a year a “plug party” is held to test all combinations of implements and tractors.
  3. The ISOBUS standard is recognized in all parts of the world.

How does it work?
The program includes implements and tractors of different brands that work with the ISOBUS software. After selecting a tractor, you can see which ISOBUS functions it has. After this you can add another implement to see if the two items that you have selected are a match. When they do, the values automatically turn green.

When you have your own account, you can add tractors/implements that you already own. In this way you can immediately see whether the implement you selected is compatible with the tractor you already have or vice versa.

What should you do if the ISOBUS functions do not match?
Talk to your dealer and ask if there are any software or hardware updates available for the implement/tractor. In most cases your dealer will be able to help you find a suitable solution.

App
To make it even easier and quicker to check compatibility, AEF has also developed an app for mobile devices. Curious about how the app works? Check out the video below.

You can download the app here via the AEF website or by searching ‘AEF ISOBUS DB’ in the Google Playstore or App Store.
