Save money with the new MULTIVOLT battery: One battery for 18-volt and 36-volt power tools!

The voltage of a battery determines how much power a tool can deliver at a specific moment. The higher the voltage of the tool, the more powerful the machine can be. Battery-operated tools are often limited to one voltage level – but that level isn’t necessarily the same for all your tools. Needing a different type of battery for each device is, let’s be honest, a nuisance. What you need is a suitable battery that gets maximum performance out of your tool: one battery for a range of 18-volt and 36-volt machines!

How can one battery deliver two different voltages?
The answer lies in the MULTIVOLT battery from HiKOKI. The clever technology used makes it possible to use 36-volt batteries in 18-volt tools, and vice versa. The battery is connected in parallel rather than in series. Once inserted into the tool, the battery recognises how many volts need to be delivered to the device.

What are the benefits of a MULTIVOLT battery?

  • You no longer need any other type of battery. You can operate both 18-volt and 36-volt tools using one battery. This means you can enjoy immediate savings because there is no need to buy two different sorts of battery.
  • It is safer. You can work cordlessly and with only one type of battery. You are no longer dependent on having a range of different batteries at your workplace and don't have to worry about loose cables in your working environment.
  • Enjoy increased flexibility, as mains power is not available everywhere. This also applies to the crawl spaces, where you are not permitted to use more than 42 volts. This is an ideal situation in which to use MULTIVOLT.
  • An indicator on the battery indicates the remaining charge, so you always know how much power you have left.
  • The higher voltage reduces the load on both the tool and battery under heavy use, while an integrated cooling system for charging ensures a long service life for both the tool and battery. This has a positive effect on the battery capacity, and enables it to deliver its full power over a longer period.

How long does one MULTIVOLT battery last?
Good news! The MULTIVOLT battery can be recharged up to 1500 times. Of course, it is difficult to say how quickly a battery will be run out of power each time, because this depends on the type of battery, the type of tool and the intensity of use. A battery's capacity determines how long you can work with it before you need to charge it again. Capacity is expressed in amperes per hour (Ah). When used in 18-volt tools, the battery has twice the capacity as in 36-volt tools. It's all quite logical. The more power you use, the larger the drain on the battery. And if you do need to top up the battery charge, it will take just 32 minutes of your time.

How flexibly can you work?
Pretty flexibly! The MULTIVOLT fits in a wide range of HiKOKI tools, including all 18-volt tools from HiKOKI and the new 36-volt tools. It also fits in the old Hitachi product line with 18-volt slide batteries, which is yet another great advantage. You can also continue to use your current battery charger if you have an 'old' Hitachi or HiKOKI battery.

And if you want to be even more flexible, you can order a twin pack or booster pack. This way, you can always have one battery charging while you are using the first one.

Want to see it in action?
The MULTIVOLT can be used in any situation, making it a true multi-talent! Even if a high power output is called for, you no longer have to rely on mains power, which gives you added flexibility and saves time and the inconvenience of running extension cables.
