The PROTIG 161 DC is a compact welder for professional use that can be used for both TIG and MMA welding. The secondary regulating capability guarantees optimum arc stability and constant current in all welding positions. This results in high-quality welding results on materials such as steel, stainless steel, copper and copper alloys. The pulse function ensures optimum control of the temperature of the weld pool and limits material deformation. This is very beneficial when processing thin materials. Two ignition options allow for contact or contactless starting, for welding in electro-sensitive environments. With the MMA accessory, Basic and Rutile electrodes can be welded up to a diameter of 4mm. The MMA Pulse setting makes it easier to do vertical upward welds on tubes and pipelines, for example. Three integrated welding aids ensure that the electrode does not "stick" while starting the weld, the electrode ignites more easily and the current is adjusted when welding conditions become more difficult.
